It's All Here in Lago Vista
Lago Vista was originally a lakeside resort development with homes, condominiums, and golf courses. It was incorporated in 1984. Lago Vista in Spanish means "Lake View."
The community encompasses more than 15 miles of shoreline on Lake Travis. It is the gateway to the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge which consists of 22 sq. miles dedicated to the protection of the endangered golden-cheeked warbler and the black-capped vireo.
Abundant white-tailed deer roam along the shores of Lake Travis and golf courses where there's year-round golfing, boating, fishing, hunting, and tennis.
Lago Vista Texas
Marble Falls, Texas is just a short drive west on F.M. 1431, which offers exceptional scenery through the Hill Country. It is especially pretty during the spring with bluebonnets and other wild flowers.
Lago Vista Airpower Museum This museum is dedicated to preservation of military aircraft and memorabilia. Its collection includes more than 150 model aircraft of all nations from World Wars I & II, Korea, Vietnam and Desert Storm.
Aircraft include a L-4 Grasshopper and a RF-4C Phantom Jet. It also has displays of uniforms, guns, diaries, medals, photographs, and books from 1914 through Desert Storm. They are in Hanger 9 at the airport.
From I-35, take Exit 256 (R.R. 1431) to Lago Vista, turn right at the Bar-K Ranch Rd. to the Lago Vista airport.
